Sadie G. opening credits

Thursday June 5,2008

animation

This is an opening credits sequence that was designed from scratch and animated for a student project. The environment was created in AfterEffects with 3D layers. Tree sihouettes were placed along a 3D plane and then I flew the camera through the environment.

Indigo logotype and business card

Tuesday June 3,2008

print

With this personal project my intent was to create a logo and business card for an imaginary client. I started sketching out the logo and it eventually evolved into something much better after I went digital with it. The card design is simple and elegant, with a stylish treatment on the back side.

Business card is here!

print

My business card has arrived from the printshop and I am happy with how the colors turned out.

United states

Thursday May 22,2008

print

Another poster I worked on for a few hours. It is a political piece that expresses feelings about the lack of unity in the country. My main goal with this one was to try to make the type feel like it belonged on the surface of the background material.

Business card & postcard design

Monday May 19,2008

print

Finally sent my business card and postcard out to print today. It was a long time coming, many designs have been scrapped, and I have chosen this one. I did my best to unify the cards with this website and with my resume.

Photography blog

Friday May 16,2008

web

This is a website I designed for a fictional photography blog. It includes a front page with introduction to what the page is about, an article section, daily photos, and of course two other pages that explain the background of the company, and contact info for feedback. Web design is a new endeavor for me so I am always trying to learn new techniques to improve upon my current skill set.

Welcome to my re-designed portfolio

Monday May 14,2008

maintenance

As you can see, I have done a complete re-design of my portfolio. One of the main reasons for the change was because I wanted a cleaner look, and also to make it an easier experience for the user. I will be posting recent work on this particular page of my website, as well as having an archive of all my previously posted works under the gallery section.

Death eats too, you know it's true

Friday May 9,2008

print

A typographical 11x17 inch print I designed for my studio class. I wanted to make something that was not symmetrical, horizontal, or vertical in nature. I made the decision to rotate the whole design after it was completed. The 45° rotation makes the composition a bit more lively.

CMYK

Tuesday May 6,2008

print

This is an 11x17 inch print I designed for my studio class. I have always been fascinated by the four colors represented in CMYK, and I just wanted to design something simple, yet catchy. All in all I am happy with the way this piece turned out.

photography

Sunset photograph from a trip to a river about forty minutes from my residence.

Rogue Wave at the Crystal Ballroom

Thursday May 1,2008

print

The inspiration behind this print was Rogue Wave. I was introduced to these guys at a Nada Surf show several years back. I wanted to create a flier for their show that happened on the date shown in the piece. The seahorse was just something I came across so I decided to give it a try, and it came out looking pretty catchy.

Rising sun

Monday April 28,2008

photography

I took this photo underneath an overpass while I was taking a walk by my old high school. The outward projected beams reminded me of a sun rise, so naturally I called it exactly that.
